The biggest exercise myth? Everyone should do the same one.

Orange theory.

Crossfit.

Running.

Spin class.

Just because someone else loves it and it works for their body, doesn’t necessarily mean it will be your thing, AND THAT’S OKAY.

So Let's Make Exercise Fun!

To help you brainstorm ways you can incorporate exercise and NOT EVEN REALIZE IT, here’s a quick brain dump of ideas.

  1. Go for a walk
  2. Go for a bike ride
  3. Roller skate
  4. Play with / walk your pet
  5. Play with your kiddos
  6. Martial Arts
  7. Swimming
  8. Hiking
  9. Rock climbing
  10. Dancing (TeacherTok dances count, right?)
  11. Standing desk when you’re grading or working on a computer at school
  12. Clean
  13. Stretch or do yoga
  14. Join an intramural sports team
  15. Hula hoop
  16. Park at the far end of the parking lot
  17. Take the stairs instead of the elevator
  18. Frisbee
  19. Jump rope
  20. Have active date nights or hangouts (bowling, laser tag, ax throwing)
  21. Trampolining
  22. Kayaking, Canoeing, or Stand-up paddleboarding
  23. Barre
  24. Fitness classes
  25. Home workouts

It’s just a plus that some of these allow you to embrace your inner child because PLAY is an essential part of rest, productivity, and joy. If you have kiddos, these are also fun activities you could do WITH them or your loved ones.

You don’t need to rock a high-intensity workout to be a healthy human, just start by incorporating more joyful movement into your life.
